Tim ‘Livewire’ Shieff is an English free-runner (parkour) best known for winning the 2009 Barclaycard World Freerun Championship and participating on the television programme MTV’s ultimate parkour challenge. In terms of Freerunning competitions won, Tim Shieff is currently the most successful Freerunner/Parkour athlete in the world, achieving victories and runner up’s in events such as The Barclaycard World Freerun Championships, and the RedBull Art Of Motion.
5 years ago, Tim was undergoing surgery on his legs and had to spend more time using his hands to move about. He decided to practice his handstands and eventually could do a lot of things on his hands. He than shot a video illustrating a day in his life where he uses his hands like legs to get around his house and do things. Watch the video below:
That video did incredibly well and the concept was forgotten about until the last couple of months when Tim realised that it had good potential to create into a series of videos showing more day to day tasks, i.e getting the tube, walking the dog and so on… After a bit of brainstorming Tim (with a bit of crude input from ourselves) came up with a number of different scenarios we could shoot with him entirely on his hands. We wanted it all to be real with no trickery but also to get some impressive and comedic elements in there – this, as you can imagine has led to us building up a large library of Tim attempting things and failing; only to have to get back on his hands and do it again until perfect. It’s all worth it in the end though! If you wish to read more, click here. Enjoy the following videos:
